Joan Pera wins best award at Seoul

Joan Pera has won Best Actor for his role as Pau Casals in the TV movie The Power of Silence at the prestigious Seoul International Drama Awards. Joan Pera collected the prize in Seoul at the award ceremony of the reputed TV drama festival, now in its thirteenth year, which featured 250 entries from over 50 countries around the world.

The film, a fictionalised account of actual events directed by Manuel Huerga, was first screened on 3 November 2017 on TV3, with a 16.2% audience share making it one of the most watched productions in recent years in the La gran pel·lícula slot.

Joan Pera was also nominated for the Golden Nymph Awards at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, where he was given the Monaco Red Cross prize.

The Seoul International Drama Awards, the world’s oldest festival of dramatized fiction, started 13 years ago with the aim of introducing drama from other countries to Korea and viceversa. This year’s edition features 250 works from over 50 countries.

The winners of this 13th edition will be announced at an awards ceremony being held in the Korean capital on 3 September.
