The feature-length film Spain in Two Trenches, The Civil War in Color has been chosen to take part in the official section of the ALBA Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. The festival is being held from 21 to 23 September in New York, and the film will be screened on Saturday 22 at 4 pm. There will be a post-screening talk led by Josephine Labanyi, head of the Spanish and Portuguese department at New York University.
Joan Pera has won Best Actor for his role as Pau Casals in the TV movie The Power of Silence at the prestigious Seoul International Drama Awards. Joan Pera collected the prize in Seoul at the award ceremony of the reputed TV drama festival, now in its thirteenth year, which featured 250 entries from over 50 countries around the world.
The film, a fictionalised account of actual events directed by Manuel Huerga, was first screened on 3 November 2017 on TV3, with a 16.2% audience share making it one of the most watched productions in recent years in the La gran pel·lícula slot.
Joan Pera was also nominated for the Golden Nymph Awards at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, where he was given the Monaco Red Cross prize.
